Lucy Pickering’s Court & Spark – A jazz tribute to the Laurel Canyon songwriters

This exciting quintet reimagine classic tracks from the Laurel Canyon era through a jazz lens, combining improvisation with thoughtful arrangements. The band’s debut album, The Mermaid Cafe, offers fresh interpretations of songs by Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Rickie Lee Jones, and James Taylor and we can’t wait to hear it on our stage. Lucy (vocals/piano) will be joined by EAC regular Beccy Rork (saxophone), Andy Williams (guitar), Terry Pack (bass) and Milo Fell  (drums). Whether you’re a jazz fan or an aficionado of that golden singer-songwriter era, you will not want to miss this!

Support comes from The Stillmen, a local ensemble under the leadership of pianist and arranger John Stillman, who will warm you up with a selection of mainstream and progressive jazz standards. The band features saxes, double bass, drums, guitar and piano and the band have been rehearsing relentlessly all year with this performance in mind!

This event is kindly sponsored by Ramsey Crookall & IOM Steam Packet’s Manx Community Assistance (MCA) Scheme.
