Piano Series: Milda Daunoraite (FREE masterclass)

For the first Piano Series of the new year, we are thrilled to welcome Lithuanian star Milda Daunoraite.

In this free masterclass, Milda will be playing excerpts from and discussing her programme for the evening recital, which will include works by Schubert, Beethoven and Ravel. These informal sessions allow a fascinating look inside the mind and technique of a professional musician and provide an ideal opportunity for aspiring pianists to meet and observe someone at the top of their craft. Milda began playing the piano aged six, under the guidance of Irena Meldaikienė. At eight years old, she became a scholar of the SOS Talents Foundation, marking the start of her European performances. She is currently studying with Tessa Nicholson at the Royal Academy of Music, where she holds a full-tuition ABRSM Scholarship. Her musical journey has been generously supported by The Munster Trust, Keyboard Charitable Trust, Hattori Foundation, SOS Talents Foundation, and the M. Rostropovich Foundation.

Milda has performed at renowned venues including Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Musikhuset Aarhus, and the UN Headquarters in Geneva as well as the EMMA World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Warsaw. She has appeared at major festivals such as the Deal Music & Arts Festival, Petworth Festival, Biarritz Piano Festival and Palermo Classica. 

A winner of the Purcell School Concerto Competition, she performed Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.

Additionally, Milda has won numerous international competitions, including the Royal Academy of Music’s 2023 Sterndale Bennett Piano Prize; the International V. Krainev Piano Competition in Kharkov; the ‘jury‘ prize in the PIANALE International Academy & Competition; Grand Prix in the 10th and 15th International piano competitions “Music Without Limits” and the 4th International Piano Competition in Stockholm. Milda is also a  four-times Prize winner in the national and international Balys Dvarionas competitions.

Experienced in a wide range of ensemble settings, Milda has worked closely with distinguished artists such as Barbara Hannigan and Levon Chilingirian, enriching her interpretative depth and collaborative skills.

Poulenc – 15 Improvisations (selection) 
Ravel – Valses Nobles et Sentimentales 
Messiaen – Regard de l’Esprit de Joie from Vingt regards sur l’Engant-Jésus ‘9
