Mine’s A Shanty at Christmas

14 December 2025 @ 7:30 pm

Tickets £10 / Under 18s £2

The boys are back in town!

After two sellout performances in two years, Mine’s a Shanty return to the EAC for another evening of unaccompanied singing with a nautical flavour – this time with more than a hint of Christmas too!

Their programme will include a variety of well-known sea songs (such as My Son John, Shenandoah and Randy Dandy O) with some less familiar shanties and their own spin on some well (and lesser known) Christmas-themed songs. Those who’ve seen the group before won’t be surprised to hear some old favourites, but the lads will also be bringing some new and less familiar material to their performance.

Gary, Martin, Chris, Andrew, Howard and David have been friends for many years but first came together as a shanty group about four years ago. They bring a wide range of musical backgrounds and a strong sense of fun to their performances and like to combine their music with some background information about the songs. Since their last concert at the Erin Arts Centre, the group have been honoured to sing for the Princess Royal on her visit to the Island, have participated in the outdoor production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and performed at the opening night of the Moon installation at the Cathedral in Peel.

Start your Christmas with a Heave Ho Ho!
