Meet the artist: Steve Naisbitt

Meet the artist of our current exhibition, Steve Naisbitt. He has led a fascinating life, including everything from installing bathrooms to deep sea diving! After starting painting in his 70’s, Steve’s unique and deeply personal approach to creating art is a constant surprise.

His current collection Awakening, on exhibition in the Erin Arts Centre until Wednesday 26th November, perfectly showcases his eclectic talents with large-scale abstract and landscape pieces sparking with life on the gallery walls. Ask about any work and you’ll hear a story about saving plywood from a skip to make his sculpturally-inspired wooden works, giving his old building tools a new life in artistic mark-making, and even experimenting with a honey finish vs varnish.

Steve is a regular at the EAC and we’re honoured have his work on the walls. Meet him in person 12-4pm on Saturday 22nd November, this is not one to miss!
