The Erin Arts Centre (“the EAC”) is an Isle of Man registered charity (number 236A IOM). Your privacy, and the privacy of all users of the EAC and our website, erinartscentre.com, is of the highest priority. This privacy policy explains what personal information the EAC gathers, how it is used and how it is protected.

What is Personal Data?
The Isle of Man Information Commissioner defines personal data as:-
“Information about living individuals (for example, staff, customers, volunteers, club members, potential clients or members of the public) is ‘Personal Data’.”
Controller of Personal Data
Any Personal Data provided to or gathered by erinartscentre.com is controlled primarily by the EAC. The EAC is required to comply with the relevant parts of the data protection legislation currently in force in the Isle of Man. As Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) is used within the EAC we are also required to be, and are, registered with the Isle of Man’s Information Commissioner.
What Personal Data do we collect and how do we use it?
We may collect, store and use Personal Data provided to us for the following reasons:-
- registering with us or purchasing tickets
- subscribing to our website, email notifications and/or newsletters
- volunteering
- fundraising
- hiring the EAC building
We may also collect, store and use details of any ticketing history and any other Personal Data that you choose to send to us.
The Personal Data which we may retrieve or collect from you is limited to your name, a postal address, telephone number and email address. We require and use this information for the following purposes:-
- Email address – to send you electronic tickets which you can either print at home or save on your phone or tablet. We may also use your email address to contact you if a show is cancelled, postponed and/or rescheduled.
- Telephone Number – to contact you if a show is cancelled, postponed and/or rescheduled at short notice or if you did not provide or do not have an email address
- Postal Address – to send tickets if you selected “post tickets” or to write to you if a show is cancelled, postponed and/or rescheduled if we do not have your email address or telephone number.
If you do not wish to share your personal data with us, you may still purchase tickets for an event at the EAC by attending in person and paying in cash.
Information provided for the purposes of volunteering, fundraising or hiring the EAC is retained purely for purposes in relation to those activities.
If you sign up to our mailing list, we may use the information collected to notify you about, news, event details, special offers and new services which we think you will find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information you may opt-out of the newsletter at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the newsletter or by emailing us including the email or other address you have given us.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that records information about your interactions with a website. When you return, cookies allow the site to recognise your browser and provide a more efficient, personalised experience.
Our website itself does not use its own cookies to track visitors. However, services we use such as HubSpot, Google Maps, and Cloudflare may set cookies or collect information according to their own privacy policies. For example:
- HubSpot may set cookies like hubspotutk, __hstc to identify returning visitors
- Google Maps may collect location and usage data
- Cloudflare may use security cookies like __cf_bm to protect the site
We also use privacy-friendly web analytics that do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or local storage. These analytics are non-invasive and help us understand general usage trends.
We embed Google Maps on our website to help users locate our venue. Google may collect personal data such as your IP address and usage data when the map is loaded. This data is handled in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. For more information, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can manage your privacy settings and opt-out options directly via your Google account.
Those agencies with whom we may share your data (HubSpot, Ticket Source UK and SumUp UK) may use cookies or similar technologies. The use of cookies by those agencies is controlled by their own privacy policies over which we have no control.
What Personal Data do we disclose to other parties?
The EAC does not sell, trade or rent your Personal Data to others. We may choose to share information in the future with trustworthy third parties, but you can tell us not to by contacting us in writing.
We may at times be required to share information under an order from the court or when requested to do so for the purpose of a criminal investigation, prosecution and/or trial, the information disclosed may, when necessary, include Personal Data.
Consent
By using the EAC or our website you consent to the collection and use of your Personal Data by the EAC.
Any transfer of Personal Data outside of the European Economic Area is done in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Isle of Man Data Protection legislation.
Your Personal Data may also be used occasionally to notify you about, news, event details, special offers and new services which we think you will find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information you may opt out by contacting us in writing.

Sharing your Personal Data
We use Hubspot for marketing purposes such as lead generation and automation, including when you subscribe to our mailing list. HubSpot Privacy Policy

Data Retention Policy
CCTV operates within the EAC, your image may be captured on the CCTV when you visit the EAC. CCTV is necessary to monitor activity within the EAC building, for example, to ensure compliance with the Isle of Man liquor licensing legislation currently in force. All CCTV footage is subject to a 30-day retention policy. All footage is deleted after 30 days unless it has been seized for use in a criminal investigation, prosecution and/or court proceedings. Any footage seized will be subject to the data protection policy of the agency or agencies to whom it is provided.
The CCTV at the EAC is operated in accordance with the Isle of Man Information Commissioner’s Surveillance Cameras: Guidance for Controllers.

Your rights over your Personal Data
The Isle of Man Data Protection Legislation provides you with the following rights over your Personal Data:-
- Right to be informed – you have the right to be informed about how we collect and use your information. This policy sets out how we do that.
- Right of access – you have the right to access any Personal Data we hold about you. You can do this by making a written subject access request free of charge to the postal or email address at the end of this policy.
- Right to rectify – if any of the Personal Data we hold about you is inaccurate you can ask for the error to be rectified
- Right to Erasure – you can withdraw your consent to processing your Personal Data, restrict how we process your Personal Data, ask for your Personal Data to be deleted. This does not include any Personal Data which we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

How do we protect your Personal Data?
The EAC makes every effort to fully comply with its obligations under the Isle of Man data protection legislation by ensuring that all Personal Data is:-
- Kept up to date
- Stored and destroyed securely
- Not collected or retained in excessive amounts
- Protected from loss, misuse and unauthorised access and disclosure.
We ensure that we have appropriate physical and technical controls in place to keep your Personal Data is kept is safe in whatever format we use or hold it. We do our very best to ensure that those organisations with whom we work and share Personal Data have similar controls.
Who has access to your Personal Data?
The EAC staff and authorised volunteers have access to your Personal Data. This access is limited to the level of information and in the format they require to operate effectively.
Your Personal Data is only shared with a third party when it is necessary to provide you with a service and when required by law or a court order.
We use our best endeavours to protect any information we hold about you by ensuring that:-
