Welcome to the Erin Arts Centre.

We are an internationally recognised arts centre in the lovely seaside resort of Port Erin in the Isle of Man. The little island nestles in the middle of the Irish Sea in the centre of the British Isles. As a registered charity, the Erin Arts Centre is a non-profit arts centre dedicated to presenting performing, vocal and visual art for the benefit of the Island community. Known for its groundbreaking music and opera programmes and its international competitions, the EAC is acknowledged to be one of the leading arts centres in the British Isles.

The competition to find the Young Singer of Mann 2018 is sponsored by NFU Mutual and Thornton Chartered Financial Planners. The first round was held on Sunday 13th May and saw 23 entries with a high standard of singing. The 8 singers selected to go through to the final on Sunday 17th June at 2pm are (in aphabetical order of surname):
Kasia Ashton, Zac Colligon, Evan Darroch, Tyler Kneale, Erin Loach, Daisy Quinn, Lucy Shimmin and Evie Skillicorn. From the remaining singers the Most Promising Awards went to Cameron Lace and Grace Lee. Congratulations to all.

The 2017 Mananan Festival was a great success with audience numbers much increased from last year. The Festival got under way with Lady Gozney unveiling a plaque to open the new extension to the Arts Centre. The new extension gives us an extra dressing room as well as extra storage space for scenery and a "garage" for our 2 pianos. She and her husband, the Island's Lieutenant-Governor Sir Richard Gozney, then attended a superb sold out concert given by international guitarist Craig Ogden.
The Festival ended with a house full notice for a concert given by Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the 2016 winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, accompanied by his sister Isata. The 2 young musicians were given a standing ovation and have been invited back with their brother for the 2018 Mananan Festival. Sheku has been asked to play at the Royal Wedding.

Our 2017 opera was 'The Italian Girl in Algiers' by Rossini and we look forward to 'Don Pasquale' by Donizetti in September. Although we and other venues on the Isle of Man show live screened operas, the Erin Arts Centre is the only Isle of Man venue to perform live operas regularly on stage.
