It’s been another rollercoaster of a year, punctuated by Covid closures and cancellations, but it’s also been a lot of fun! Ok, so we lost the ‘Long Weekend’ back in July but we’ve hosted our 50th birthday party featuring local and UK stars, a new jazz festival, some fantastic films, old and new (‘Nomadland’, ‘Cinema Paradiso’, ‘Coco’ anyone?), as well as concerts ranging from classical and choral, to the blues, taking in experimental electronica and opera on the way! We’ve premiered four new Manx dramas and displayed pictures by artists aged 11- 82 years. A variety of musical talent have taken advantage of the auditorium’s fine acoustics for recording and we look forward to hearing the results in the new year. Our community groups continue to meet regularly and once again the Port Purlers raised a whopping £180 for us at this year’s Christmas Market!None of this would have been possible without the enduring support of all our friends and helpers; so, we’d like to wish our volunteers, patrons and artists who have performed here this year, an incredibly Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you all in 2022
