mananan international festivals

The Mananan International Festivals, established in 1975, are among the Isle of Man's most prestigious cultural events, and rank among the finest festivals in the British Isles. The Main Festival is held during the last 2 weeks of June with an event every evening and sometimes during daytimes. The Opera Festival is held every September and includes a live opera.

For a small fee, you can become a Friend of the Mananan Festival. Joing the Friends entitles you to priority booking for all Festival events.

The June 2020 Mananan and Opera Festivals were cancelled but the artistes did agree to come in 2021. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the 2021 festival because of Covid travel restrictions. The 2021 opera will be Cosi Fan Tutte by Mozart whch was scheduled for September 2020 but was cancelled. It is hoped to have a Mini-Mananan Festival centred around the September opera but this will be subject to covid travel restrictions. Full details will be available when it is finalised.
