travelling by sea
The Isle of Man Steam Packet provides passenger and
vehicle services between the port of Douglas and four ports in the
United Kingdom and Ireland. Fastcraft and conventional vessels make
up a modern fleet providing high levels of onboard service.
Routes
Douglas to Heysham
A year round service for passengers, cars and freight operates between
Heysham and the Isle of Man. Twice daily services are operated by
the Ben-my-Chree, a conventional vessel which came into service in
1998. Additional fastcraft operate a two hour crossing as peak times
during the summer months.
Douglas to Liverpool
A year round service for passengers and cars operates between Liverpool
and the Isle of Man. Fastcraft vessels provide twice daily
sailings from April to the end of October with a crossing time of
2 hours 30 minutes. In autumn and winter, a service is operated at
weekends with conventional vessels replacing the fastcraft.
Douglas to Belfast and Dublin
Services for passengers and cars to Dublin and Belfast are operated
by fastcraft three times weekly between April and October, with a
crossing time to both ports of 2 hours 45 minutes.
